- Understand the use and maintenance of various kitchen equipment.
- Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
- Have an excellent record of kitchen and staff management.
- Understand federal, state, and local food and safety regulations.
- Hold ServSafe certification.
- Oversee the activities of the kitchen staff and monitor all food production and presentation.
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance and provide feedback to the Executive Chef.
- Mentor culinary staff as needed.
- Train and assist staff in proper procedures and policies.
- Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed.
- Develop menus.
- Oversee the dining experience of the Long-Term Care Neighborhood.
- Work side-by-side and hands-on with the Executive Chef.
- Develop recipes.
- Schedule staff.
- Oversee inventory.
- A degree in Culinary science or a related certificate would be a plus.
- Two to five years of cooking experience in long-term care or a similar setting is preferred.
