Requirements
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in transmission line design for high-voltage applications.
  • A Professional Engineer license.
  • Strong knowledge of structural design and analysis principles and tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of foundation design and analysis.
  • Proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, FAD Tools, and AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Safety Code, American Society of Civil Engineers, American Concrete Institute, Rural Utilities Service, International Electrotechnical Commission, and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers codes and standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A strong desire to mentor, train, and lead the next generation of engineers.
Responsibilities
  • Design transmission structures and power lines for high-voltage applications.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications and drawings.
  • Conduct engineering analysis and simulations for transmission line design.
  • Mentor and train lower-level engineers and team members.
  • Perform independent reviews of work performed by others, including calculations, drawings, specifications, and transmission line PLS-CADD models.
  • Provide support to the project team during construction and installation.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and project managers to ensure project goals are met.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Perform field work as required to support design, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Interface with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical support as required.

L.A. Family Housing provides affordable housing for low-income families in Greater Los Angeles and pairs it with supportive services. They own and operate 22 properties, including three shelters and 19 permanent affordable buildings, offering a continuum of care from temporary housing to permanent rental housing. Residents receive case management, basic needs support, and programs to build self-sufficiency, helping families move from homelessness to housing stability. Their goal is to preserve and grow affordable housing while reducing homelessness and strengthening neighborhoods in low-income communities.
