The Sport IO team is focused on innovating in the broadcast storytelling experience as well as delivering tools and technology for esports players, teams, and tournaments. We have a mix of user facing experiences through our web properties lolesports.com and valorantesports.com and back-end tools which are used by the broadcast producers and tournament operators.
As the Engineering Manager, you’ll be tasked with building the long-term success for your organization by co-owning the product vision, mentoring and growing talent, and being accountable for delivering results. Engineering Managers are held to a high standard and expected to foster an inclusive culture, ensure work-life balance, and manage expectations while driving their forward in a sustainable way.
This role reports to the Senior Manager in the Esports Sports Innovation and Optimization organization.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team or team(s) with broad, mission-critical scope
- Drive to create and manage the team roadmap and delivery
- Hire, mentor, and grow talent within your organization
- Hold your team accountable for delivery; be held accountable by your team for setting realistic expectations
- Delegate technical excellence through management
- Ensure business continuity within your organization
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience as an Engineering Manager
- 7+ years of experience or equivalent in Software Engineering using cloud-native architectures
- 3+ years of experience with AWS (or comparable cloud environments)
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Experience guiding multiple direct reports through a promotion
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience building and maintaining an organization plan
- Experience driving organization-wide changes or innovations
- Experience managing outside vendors
