Responsibilities
Manage work activities within the Caliper engineering department and provide appropriate training to ensure quality and maximum productivity from the engineering team.
Plan and direct the engineering design projects, direct multi-national cross-functional engineering teams to release new products, and timely fulfill market demands
Ensure the Caliper engineering department has the latest software upgrades for improving 3D modeling and CAD efficiency, review drawings to ensure product design quality, consistency, and accuracy of engineering details
Lead APQP, drawing, and component review, to fulfill PPAP requirements. Ensure all Caliper/component designs align with the manufacturing process. Review initial product samples to verify with the product specification to ensure quality delivery
Capture opportunity via customer feedback, warranty analysis, and competitive benchmarking, drive continuous improvement in engineering process, product design, and quality.
Develop customer contact with new business proposals with suppliers and ensure the quoting procedure is in a timely fashion for obtaining business
Keeps management informed on caliper product status and any concerns from the Caliper engineering team member.
