What believers are saying

  • July 22, 2025 Fourth Circuit upheld CPI’s $189.7 million Vivint verdict.
  • That ruling funds corrective advertising, legal spending, and channel defense for years.
  • Lumos bundling can raise household ARPU across Southeast markets through 2026.

What critics are saying

  • Vivint’s deceptive-sales fight started in 2020, proving CPI’s customer base is contestable.
  • CPI’s model depends on high-touch installation and monitoring, making margin expansion difficult.
  • A future dispute or sales-channel misstep can trigger another customer-poaching wave and brand damage.

What makes CPI Security unique

  • CPI Security combines monitored alarm systems with inTouch app and SmartHub hardware.
  • August 2023 Lumos partnership bundles Southeast fiber internet with CPI smart-home security.
  • CPI’s 2021 panic button and 2022 SmartHub upgrades deepen emergency-response stickiness.
