Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • WA State Surgical Technologist Registration (Upon Hire)
  • Minimum of six (6) month clinical medical experience
  • BLS Certification within ninety (90) days of hire
Responsibilities
  • Selects and prepares supplies and surgical instruments for each case.
  • Assists with the physical preparation of the operating room for each case, including wiping, and mopping OR.
  • Creates the sterile field and maintains sterile technique during operative procedures.
  • Assists surgeon during surgery, passes correct instruments, supplies, and sutures as needed by the surgeon, sponges or suctions the operative site, retracts tissue for exposure at the operative site, assists with irrigation under immediate supervision of the licensed health care practitioner, cuts sutures, and anticipates next steps of procedure.
  • Assists with the count of sponges, needles, and other surgical items.
  • Under appropriate supervision, manages and prepares medications from the sterile field.
  • Familiar with all aspects of instrument processing and assists as appropriate.
  • Assists with support duties as assigned, to include, but not limited to, downtime terminal cleaning, cleaning bays in pre/post op, assisting with lasers, and patient transport.
  • Communicates with the leadership team daily to ensure an efficient running operation to include communication regarding problems, questions, scheduling, and creative ideas.

PRISM highlighted its interest in expanding beyond the mid-Atlantic region while announcing the acquisition. Top videos. "This affiliation marks an important milestone in PRISM's commitment to expand its geographic footprint," the organization said. "Spokane Eye Clinic has a storied history of excellence in eye care and is an ideal flagship affiliate for us in the Northwest," CEO of PRISM Dr. Steven Madreperla said. "With a growing team of 27 eye care specialists, including specialists in retina, glaucoma, cornea, cataract surgery, pediatrics, and optometry - with four clinic locations, active clinical trials, and a state-of-the-art dedicated ambulatory surgery center, Spokane has developed a thriving, patient-centered, integrated care model that mirrors what we are building at PRISM." Spokane Eye Clinic opened its doors in 1955, and last year brought in more patients than ever before. Dr. Andrew Cheek, a retina specialist with Spokane Eye Clinic, supported the move.
