Requirements
  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science or Doctor of Pharmacy degree in Pharmacy is required.
  • A valid state license and current registration to practice Pharmacy must be maintained.
  • The ability to stand and walk throughout the majority of a shift is required.
  • The candidate must be a certified immunizer.
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacist is required.
  • The candidate must complete a drug test.
  • The candidate must undergo initial and continuous exclusion and sanction or disciplinary monitoring.
  • The candidate must meet any additional eligibility requirements based on the specific position.
Responsibilities
  • Adhere to the Kinney Standard of Practice when dispensing prescriptions and counseling patients.
  • Perform all quality assurance steps to ensure technically accurate prescriptions are dispensed and report dispensing incidents in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to all state and federal guidelines governing the practice of Pharmacy.
  • Oversee the initial submission, resubmission, and collection of all third-party claims.
  • Manage and balance pharmacy inventory to maximize turns while maintaining stock for customer needs, and oversee the transmitting, processing, and receiving of orders from the Kinney Warehouse and additional suppliers.
  • Check pharmacy inventory for outdates and process all returns.
  • Maintain prescription files and other manual records in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Ensure in-store pharmacy technology is used to its full potential to maximize return on investment and technology lifespan.
  • Ensure all employees consistently provide outstanding customer service.
  • Ensure all loss prevention policies are followed and report deviations to Loss Prevention.
  • Assist with implementing corporate pharmacy marketing, advertising, and promotional programs.
  • Oversee maintenance of the pharmacy department to provide a clean, professional environment that protects customer and employee safety.
  • Maintain and develop professional relationships with doctors and other health service professionals.
  • Maintain awareness of developments in Pharmacy and Health Care Services fields related to job responsibilities and integrate them into practice.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Facilitate communication between professional staff and pharmacy personnel.
  • Assist in developing the annual pharmacy department operating budget and operate the department within budgetary guidelines.
  • Interact with the Store Manager in hiring practices, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions for pharmacy department personnel.
  • Assign duties and assist with scheduling pharmacy staff to meet payroll and productivity budget guidelines.
  • Train and develop pharmacy department personnel, including use of the Kinney Pharmacy Clerk and Technician Training Program.
  • Assist in communicating corporate goals to pharmacy department personnel.
  • Attend and actively participate in required training and management programs as requested by the Supervisor.
  • Interface with auditors and outside agencies as needed.
  • Ensure the store complies with all state and federal regulations and requirements.
  • Complete all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
