Requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule-based instructions.
  • Ability to gain knowledge of the current practice management system, electronic medical record, Microsoft Word, text paging, Internet, and Intranet.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
  • Ohio Board of Pharmacy Technician License.
  • Immunization Certification.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Three years of practice as a nationally certified pharmacy technician.
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, and hear frequently, with occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Ability to regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work around fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and radiation risk.
Responsibilities
  • Perform technical prescription-processing duties, including data entry, counting medication, and selling prescriptions to patients under the supervision of the pharmacist on duty.
  • Provide customer service by phone and at the counter.
  • Assist the pharmacy manager with handling customer complaints in a timely manner.
  • Set an example in attendance, dress code, customer service, work ethic, work relationships, and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Partner with the pharmacy manager to train new pharmacy technicians in all job functions and retrain current pharmacy technicians as needed.
  • Administer immunizations under the supervision of the pharmacist on duty.
  • Perform administrative tasks within the scope of applicable rules and laws under the direction and supervision of the pharmacy manager.
  • Perform other assigned duties and tasks.
