Etch Process Engineer
Position Summary: The Etch Process Engineer is responsible for sustaining and improving semiconductor manufacturing processes related to etching. They work collaboratively to enhance yield, reduce costs, and streamline factory operations. This role involves continuous improvement, problem-solving, and adapting processes for new devices while maintaining established processes. The successful candidate thrives in a dynamic 24/7 manufacturing environment and demonstrates a commitment to ongoing learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Improve yield and optimize processes for etching semiconductor wafers.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to remove complexity and enhance efficiency in the factory.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving activities.
- Develop and adapt processes for new devices, ensuring seamless integration.
- Sustain established semiconductor manufacturing processes.
- Adhere to strict wafer handling protocols in a Class 100 Clean Room environment.
- Apply statistical process control methodologies to maintain semiconductor processing equipment.
- Utilize semiconductor metrology methods to assess tool performance and wafer quality.
- Design experimental plans to qualify new tools, processes, or process transfers across different semiconductor equipment platforms with a focus on lowest time to qualification with the highest quality standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Electrical Engineering, or Physics.
- 3-5+ years of semiconductor manufacturing experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, specifically in Plasma Resist Stripping, Plasma Oxide Etching, Plasma Metal Etching, and/or Wet Strips using solvents/acids.
- 2-4+ years of semiconductor manufacturing experience with a Master’s Degree, specifically in Plasma Etch and/or Wet Strips.
- Prefer candidates with experience using AMAT CENTURA Platforms (MXP, MXP+, DPS, DPS+, Super-E), Ashing Tools (Mattson or ULVAC), or Wet Strip Tools (Lam DAVINICI, Siconnex Spray Acid, Siconnex Spray Solvent)
- Proficiency in working within a Class 100 Clean Room environment.
- Thorough understanding of integrated circuit manufacturing processes, process integration, and semiconductor device physics.
- Familiarity with statistical process control methodologies, engineering statistical analysis, and experience designing experimental plans for tool qualification/process development.
