Crypto.com deletes user account with funds, denies account exists for weeks

A Crypto.com user discovered his exchange account was inaccessible despite receiving login confirmation emails, with his funds frozen inside. The user, who had operated the account normally for years, found the platform returning "401 Unauthorized" errors when attempting to access his funds. Customer support provided contradictory information, first calling the account "rejected," then claiming no account existed under his email address. After BeInCrypto contacted Crypto.com with detailed questions, the exchange issued a vague statement citing regulatory compliance obligations and potential account restrictions during reviews, but provided no specific timeline for resolution. The company declined to comment on individual accounts or confirm whether the user's case involved such a review. Similar complaints have appeared in Crypto.com's public forums, with users reporting comparable access issues and support loops. Eight days after the incident, the user's funds remain inaccessible.

Crypto.com launches tokenized stocks with 24/7 trading access from $1

Crypto.com has launched Tokenized Stocks, allowing users to gain exposure to US equities and ETFs through its app. The service offers access to 1,500 underlying stocks and funds from as little as $1. Available to eligible users in the EEA and other approved jurisdictions, the product provides 24/7 trading of tokenised stocks tracking assets like NVDA, TSLA, and AAPL, as well as commodity ETFs. Users can trade fractionally with fast settlement outside traditional market hours. The tokenised stocks are derivative instruments tracking price performance without conferring ownership or shareholder rights, though users may receive dividend equivalent adjustments. Underlying assets are held with Alpaca, a US-regulated broker-dealer. For a limited period, Crypto.com offers zero-commission trading on Tokenised Stocks. The service is provided by Foris Capital CY Limited, regulated by Cyprus's financial authority.

Emirates, world's most profitable airline, accepts crypto payments for flights

Emirates has begun accepting cryptocurrency payments for flights through Crypto.com Pay on its website and mobile app. The service, launched on 28 July, is available to eligible UAE residents for bookings priced in Emirati dirham. The implementation follows a partnership agreement signed in July 2025. Customers with Crypto.com accounts can now pay directly from their digital wallets, with transactions processed according to UAE regulatory standards. Emirates is the world's largest long-haul international carrier. For the financial year ended 31 March 2026, the airline posted record profits of AED 19.7 billion (approximately $5.4 billion) on revenue of roughly $41 billion. The carrier transported 53.2 million passengers during the period. The Dubai-based airline operates a fleet of about 277 aircraft serving more than 140 destinations.

Emirates launches crypto flight payments for UAE residents only via Crypto.com

Emirates has launched cryptocurrency payments for flight bookings through Crypto.com Pay, but only UAE residents can use it—and only when booking fares priced in Emirati dirhams. The airline carried 53.2 million passengers last financial year across 152 cities in 80 countries, but the new option covers one country and one currency. Customers pay from a Crypto.com wallet, but Emirates never receives Bitcoin or Ethereum. Payments are converted to dirhams or dirham-backed stablecoins before settlement under a Central Bank of the UAE licence. Crypto.com's UAE arm is the only virtual asset service provider holding that licence, meaning no rival exchange can offer the same rail. The restriction excludes international tourists, whom Emirates and Dubai Finance had previously identified as the emirate's largest untapped pool for digital payments.
