Purpose of the Role
BGIS is seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to support safety, environmental, and compliance outcomes across a diverse portfolio of contracts and operational sites.
Reporting directly to the HSEQ Manager, you will work collaboratively with both client and BGIS teams to strengthen systems, support safe work practices, and ensure consistent compliance with WHSE standards. This role combines office-based coordination with regular site engagement across the Brisbane region.
The ideal candidate will be approachable, detail-oriented, and confident working with a range of stakeholders. You’ll value teamwork, contribute positively to a collaborative environment, and support shared outcomes across the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and reviews across contracts and business units
- Support the development, maintenance, and improvement of WHSE systems and documentation
- Monitor compliance with WHS, environmental, and contractual requirements
- Lead and support incident investigations, reporting, and corrective actions
- Prepare and deliver WHSE reporting, including performance metrics and insights
- Assist with contractor safety management, permits, and high-risk work reviews
- Contribute to training and awareness of WHSE systems and practices
- Support tender submissions, transitions, and continuous improvement initiatives
Education, Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a WHS/HSEQ Advisor or Coordinator role (all levels encouraged to apply)
- Experience within construction, facilities management, or property environments
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (or equivalent)
- Strong skills in incident investigation, reporting, and auditing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and WHSE systems (e.g. iAuditor)
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to adapt and work across multiple sites and priorities
Desirable:
- ICAM investigation training and experience
- Diploma or higher qualification in WHS or related field
- Experience within aviation or highly regulated environments
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 standards
Workplace Flexibility
This role is based in the Brisbane CBD, with regular travel to client sites across the region. It is primarily on-site, with a strong focus on in-person engagement and site presence.
