Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field and ten years of related experience, including direct supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Complex project management experience, including the ability to lead multidisciplinary or multifunction teams.
  • Advanced qualitative and quantitative problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation of key business and strategic initiatives, outlining action plans to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of educational delivery systems within the School of Medicine.
  • Direct the planning, development, and monitoring of all program-related budgets within Medical Education.
  • Oversee revenue and expense reporting, forecasting, and reconciliation procedures.
  • Review and ensure timely submission of education budgets in compliance with Business and Finance guidelines.
  • Develop short- and long-term programmatic goals and objectives for Medical Education, ensuring compliance with accreditation and other regulatory standards.
  • Lead the development of qualitative and quantitative analyses for written documents, flow charts, and spreadsheets.
  • Oversee or assist in developing operational and statistical reports for School of Medicine leadership and accrediting bodies.
  • Work with the Graduate Medical Education team to ensure timely analysis and implementation of annual adjustments to trainee salaries and fringe benefits, as well as salary support for program leadership.
  • Oversee human resources functions in School of Medicine Medical Education, including recruitment and appointment of Education Deans, faculty, and staff.
  • Review and assess the appropriate organizational structure and mix of staff, and participate in discussions regarding faculty funding for educational contributions.
  • Manage the work of faculty and staff in all areas associated with Medical Education in the School of Medicine.
  • Oversee staff development, including leadership skills advancement and growth opportunities for staff in all areas of education.
  • Collaborate with School of Medicine space and facility management staff to meet the space needs of educational programs.
  • Work closely with information technology staff as they develop and implement plans, projects, and policies for educational programs.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing external undergraduate medical education, graduate medical education, and health professions contracts and agreements for learner operations and clinical placements.
  • Conduct reviews of graduate medical education time and supplemental pay.
  • Assist with other agreements as needed.
  • Assist and participate in formulating and implementing strategic plans for School of Medicine education programs, including educational needs and learner support, staffing requirements, faculty recruitment, space assignments, and financial plans.
  • Work closely with School of Medicine leadership to drive and lead faculty and staff working groups across training sites.
  • Develop and review policies related to medical education across programs.
  • Ensure that education programs manage the compliance, evaluation, and documentation processes required to maintain accredited status.
  • Perform related responsibilities as required.
