Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 8-10+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field, with a proven track record of success.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and superior editing abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing strategic communication plans.
  • Strong media relations experience with established contacts and a history of securing top-tier media placements.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring a team.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and oversee integrated internal and external communications strategies that align with the company’s business objectives.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and key influencers. Act as a primary media contact, manage press inquiries, and proactively pitch stories to secure positive press coverage.
  • Direct the creation of high-quality, compelling content, including press releases, media advisories, bylined articles, blog posts, speeches, presentations, and social media content.
  • Develop and manage an internal communications program that keeps employees informed, engaged, and connected to the company's mission and goals. Oversee channels such as the company intranet, newsletters, and all-hands meetings.
  • Provide strategic communications counsel to senior leadership. Develop talking points, briefing materials, and presentations for executives for speaking engagements, media interviews, and internal events.
  • Manage and mentor a team of communications professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and support professional development.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of communication efforts. Analyze data and provide regular reports to leadership on media coverage, engagement metrics, and campaign results.
  • Ensure all communications are consistent with the company's brand voice, style, and messaging guidelines.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in crisis communications and issues management.
  • Experience with C-suite level executive communications.
  • Proficiency with media monitoring tools (e.g., Cision, Meltwater) and social media management platforms.
  • A blend of agency and in-house corporate communications experience is highly desirable.
  • Must be a US citizen and/or green card holder and be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
