Custom Door Estimator

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Quote Processing: assist sales staff with pricing, generating product drawings, and writing up quotes for custom door products. Ensure quotes accurately reflect all customer specifications and requirements.
• Order Processing: work with more experienced estimators to process orders, with priority based on order of delivery dates. Assist sales staff with pricing and drafting revisions to obtain the sale, while continuing to ensure all information is up to date, comprehensive, and accurately reflects customer specifications.
• Order Management: monitor order timelines, flag any issues to a senior Captiva Estimator or the Captiva Product Line Manager if corrective action may be required.
• Collaboration: work with sales and technical teams to address inquiries, provide product information, and ensure alignment on project specifications. Foster effective communication between departments to streamline the estimating and order processing workflow
• Documentation and Reporting: maintain organized records of all quotes and orders processed, ensuring proper documentation for future reference, across all required software platforms.
• Sales Support: address sales inquiries and concerns regarding quotes or orders promptly and professionally. Assist in resolving any discrepancies or issues that may arise during the ordering process.

Required Education & Experience

• Detail-Oriented: custom architectural products are complex and require a keen eye and strong organizational skills
• Work Ethic: willing to work to meet specific department goals by working collaboratively in a team environment
• Communicative: excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Critical Thinking: ability to look at a request from both a micro- and macro-perspective and work with more experienced estimators to understand how to estimate and generate drawings for product utilizing our custom estimating software
• Continuous Improvement: this is the most critical skill for a junior estimator – key focuses should be on continuous improvement of understanding how to utilize estimating software, reading drawings, and construction process
• Base Software - proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
