Requirements
  • Product Development experience in molecular diagnostic equipment and/or instruments, and thorough understanding of the supply chain and related costs
  • Understanding of general technical and specific engineering issues related to the life sciences market, especially as they relate to instrument development
  • Familiarity with systems development with considerations for optics, fluidics, thermodynamics, and/or human factors
  • Comfortable with common molecular biology concepts and laboratory parlance, able to facilitate communication between product development engineering and scientific customers
  • Proven skills in customer and internal communication of complex technical concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, influence teams, and build relationships
  • Experience and understanding of common molecular biology workflows
  • Ability to understand and analyze instrument-to-consumables interface considerations
  • Strong decision making & problem solving abilities
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a life science related field is required
  • A minimum of five (5) years of related professional experience is required
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities will be considered
  • Level of position will be based on experience and skills
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a life science technology, applications and product development subject matter expert
  • Contribute to the definition of the strategy for the Life Sciences business, including internal initiatives and external activities - focusing on the technology and life sciences specific elements
  • Inform customer concept and technology selection along with development, and aid Plexus' product development engineering services and manufacturing to comprehensively understand client's needs
  • Assist internal teams in the creation of compelling and customer-aligned project proposals
  • Monitor, understand and effectively communicate life sciences market needs and trends
  • Support the execution of internal life science projects
  • Contribute to promotional and branding efforts in the life sciences space
  • Additional duties as assigned
