Requirements
  • Currently completing an Irish or Northern Irish university qualification in Business, Manufacturing, or Management courses.
  • Must be able to analyze and correct complex testing and/or systems issues of a broad scope using independent judgment.
  • Must comply with the quality system, regulations, and company policies.
  • Must be capable of working as part of a multi-disciplined team.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and basic personal computer knowledge.
  • Must be available for either 6, 9, or 12 months.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and prioritize production to meet customer requirements, maintain inventory levels and relevant key production indicators according to the operations plan, and communicate and record output levels.
  • Support the Supervisor and Operations Associate in maintaining daily management records.
  • Collaborate with new product introduction teams to ensure builds are prioritized and progressed through the line according to required timelines.
  • Identify and manage monthly training priorities against business needs.
  • Support the Line Support Team with forming and executing training schedules, including versatility, station rotation, and line staffing plans.
  • Train and support line subject-matter experts in delivering training.
  • Support the implementation and scheduling of training for document changes.
  • Support the Supervisor and Operations Associate in developing production training plans for new hires and implementing employee cross-training plans.
  • Support the Operations Associate in maintaining the SLMS training system and ensuring training is effectively recorded in line with the quality management system.
  • Review overtime needs with the Operations Supervisor and coordinate gathering a list of team members to meet those needs.
  • Support the Supervisor with creating staffing plans.
  • Ensure quality standards and expectations are communicated and deployed.
  • Maintain reports on quality and production metrics, including rework, scrap, line clearance, quality assurance audits, and cell shutdown.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities, including Lean and cost-reduction initiatives.

Stryker completes first hip surgery using FDA-authorized Apple Vision Pro app SportSuite Vision

Stryker has completed the first surgical procedure using its FDA-authorized SportSuite Vision application on Apple Vision Pro at Duke Health. The hip arthroscopy was performed by orthopaedic surgeon Dr Chad Mather III at the academic medical centre. SportSuite Vision received FDA De Novo authorization on 17 July, making it the first application approved for intraoperative use with Apple Vision Pro. The technology allows surgeons to view arthroscopic video, HipCheck, HipMap and CT imaging within their field of vision during procedures. The spatial computing application aims to reduce reliance on traditional monitors positioned throughout operating rooms. By bringing multiple data sources into the surgeon's field of view, it supports a more streamlined and ergonomic surgical workflow during complex arthroscopic procedures.

Stryker to acquire ZuriMED's rotator cuff augmentation technology for shoulder portfolio

Stryker has signed a definitive agreement to acquire ZuriMED, a privately held developer of the FiberLocker System for rotator cuff repair. The commercialised soft tissue augmentation technology is designed to provide increased biomechanical strength and reduce clinical failure in rotator cuff procedures. According to Stryker, the acquisition will strengthen its shoulder portfolio and expand support for shoulder specialists across sports medicine and arthroplasty. Rotator cuff augmentation is described as one of the fastest-growing areas in sports medicine and a significant opportunity in shoulder care. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions. Stryker and ZuriMED will operate as separate entities until closing is complete.

Stryker holds steady despite cyber disruption as robotics drive 9% organic growth

Stryker started 2026 with strong underlying demand despite a cyber disruption. The medical technology company reported 9% organic sales growth in the second quarter, with MedSurg & Neurotechnology rising 9.2% and Orthopaedics up 8.6%. International sales grew 8.9%, supported by markets including Australia, Germany, Canada, India and Brazil. Mako Robotics continues to drive growth, with more than 2.5 million procedures performed globally and systems installed across 47 countries. US knee sales increased 6.2% on continued Mako adoption. The company has a market capitalisation of $125.7 billion. Its bottom line is expected to improve 10.4% over the next five years.
