  • A high school diploma.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Successful completion of a state-approved Medication Aide course.
  • Personal Care Assistant or Certified Nursing Certification is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form in an interdisciplinary care setting with residents, families, and staff members.
  • Ability to work in an environment serving seniors without posing a substantial safety or health threat to self or others.
  • Ability to work well with others and promote a team environment.
Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a positive working relationship with residents, family members, and staff.
  • Promote and protect residents’ rights and treat residents with dignity and respect.
  • Attend in-service and education programs and obtain continuing education required by state regulations.
  • Remain calm under stressful conditions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of residents’ information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Maintain a professional appearance by adhering to the community dress code.
  • Complete documentation in an informative and descriptive manner.
  • Report all changes in a resident’s condition to the supervisor as soon as possible.
  • Complete work schedules and assigned tasks in accordance with the community’s established policies and procedures.
  • Operate equipment safely and use only equipment for which prior training has been completed.
  • Use infection-control precautions and practices during all activities.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of fire and emergency procedures and report all safety violations.
