Requirements
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required, plus at least two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to write business communications to members and employees.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to reconcile member and general ledger accounts.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, dividends, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to talk or hear, sit, occasionally stand and walk, use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.

Responsibilities
  • Handle member communications received via phone call, postal mail, Internet mail, and web chat.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of Credit Union products and services and use this knowledge to cross-sell appropriate products and services.
  • Create relationships with members by completing tasks on or before assigned deadlines and anticipating needs.
  • Take ownership of member issues, seek solutions, process transactions accurately, and disseminate information.
  • Contribute to a team environment through respectful and supportive workplace communication and by fulfilling commitments.
  • Complete training programs in accordance with the personal development plan.
  • Perform accurate transactions on existing savings, checking, certificate, consumer loan, real estate loan, and credit card accounts in accordance with standard operating procedures and regulations.
  • Process new savings, checking, and certificate accounts.
  • Process authorized data changes at the membership and account levels.
  • Research and resolve basic member inquiries related to Credit Union accounts, products, and services.
  • Practice the Credit Union’s service standards.
  • Complete assigned reports, tasks, and projects within established guidelines and timeframes.
  • Perform other work as requested by the Call Center Manager.
  • Perform all Member Service Advisor I duties without supervision.
  • Meet established individual and team sales and service goals.
  • Process new membership applications, including opening associated accounts.
  • Process consumer loan applications, including applicant interviews, application review and evaluation, decision recommendations to the Loan Officer, and notification of loan decisions to members.
  • Process new IRA, trust, UTMA, and business accounts.
  • Research and resolve complex member inquiries related to Credit Union accounts, products, and services.
  • Perform “Thank You” calls to members according to established guidelines.
  • Perform campaign calls as directed.
  • Notify the Call Center Manager of service concerns by monitoring call volume and service levels in the Call Center.
  • Perform all Member Service Advisor II duties without supervision.
  • Assist staff or members with difficult transactions and escalated calls.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of IRA, trust, UTMA, and business account products.
  • Assist the Call Center Manager with call-center administration, including keeping staff current on new procedures and policies, monitoring call volume and patterns, managing staff scheduling, and ensuring service standards are met.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous call center experience in a financial institution is preferred.
  • Experience with Ultradata/FSP and Microsoft Office applications is preferred.

The $1.6 billion California credit union turns to its former finance chief after longtime leader Kathy Duvall stepped down, as the institution looks to build on decades of steady growth and community service. San Francisco Fire Credit Union has named Robert Kassab its new president and chief executive officer, formalizing a leadership transition that follows the retirement of longtime CEO Kathy Duvall. The announcement places Kassab, who joined the credit union as chief financial officer in 2022 and most recently served as interim CEO, at the helm of a financial cooperative with approximately $1.6 billion in assets. His appointment comes three months after Duvall concluded a 30-year career in the credit union industry, including nine years leading SF Fire Credit Union.
