Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline.
  • 1-10+ years of experience
  • 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • Must have an Active TOP SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a TOP SECRET Clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Designs, plans, and executes design and layout for Internet sites and web pages, which often includes combining text with sounds, pictures, graphics, and video-clips.
  • Questions or communicates with clients to assess their needs, discuss requirements, and clarify their goals for establishing a website.
  • Meets with clients on a regular basis to evaluate and modify site as it seems appropriate and keeps them informed of project progress.
  • Designs a custom-tailored plan for a proposed site using combination of graphic and written material and modifies proposal as necessary until the client is satisfied.
  • Designs, maintains, and updates information and digitized images, banners, bullets, charts, image maps, and other graphics to enhance appearance of site and keep the content and graphics current.
  • Maintains site appearance by developing and enforcing content and display standards. Produces and maintains websites that are user-friendly, effective, and appealing.
  • Creates user interfaces, using front-end code to interface with back-end code. Gives expert design advice on projects and makes recommendations for improving web sites.
  • Coordinates with copywriters and graphic artists to design images, icons, banners, and audio enhancement.
  • Works with Web Developers to apply style and user interface design to web applications.
  • Monitors performance and results. Identifies and evaluates improvement options.
  • Maintains links within the website. Makes recommendations on the use of new and emerging technologies or applications and the opportunities to integrate them into operations and activities.
  • Educates clients about the similarities and differences between Internet communication and other forms of marketing and public relations efforts.
  • May work with clients to select a domain name and registers the chosen name.
  • Has experience in the creation of web pages based on direction from functional users and designed by web designers.
  • Should have knowledge of HTML and use of automated tools for web page construction.
  • Other duties as assigned.
