The Head of Pricing Strategy role
We are seeking a visionary and results-driven leader to establish and scale Qlik’s centralized pricing function. This role will spearhead our pricing team, including overall strategy, optimization, operations, and governance, ensuring alignment with Qlik’s broader strategic goals. TheHeadof Pricing Strategy will be instrumental in transforming pricing into a competitive advantage as well as a driver of growth and profitability, working cross-functionally to achieve optimal business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the long-term pricing vision and strategy in collaboration with senior executives and cross-functional teams.
- Position the pricing team as a profit driver and a source of competitive advantage for the company.
- Lead transformation initiatives to simplify, optimize, and innovate pricing models.
- Act as the authority on pricing decisions across the company, ensuring objectivity and neutrality across business units (BUs) and sales teams.
- Build and lead a centralized, cross-functional pricing team to provide high-level advice and support to sales, finance, product, and marketing.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee the optimization of existing pricing structures, including sunsetting outdated or unsuccessful models and ensuring adoption of new frameworks.
- Design and implement streamlined processes for pricing governance, ensuring sales teams and deal desk have clear profitability targets and parameters.
- Operationalize discounting policies to balance deal volume with revenue maximization.
- Collaborate closely with product, enablement, sales operations, and deal desk teams to communicate and implement any pricing changes or optimizations
- Ensure seamless integration of pricing initiatives into GTM strategies, partnering with sales, marketing and the BUs to test and refine pricing structures across the customer lifecycle.
Innovation and Market Research
- Leverage customer research and market insights to develop pricing approaches that maximize value and growth.
- Identify and evaluate disruptive pricing opportunities, including new models aligned with SaaS and subscription maturity.
- Stay informed of competitive pricing trends and develop impact scenarios and response plans.
- Perform pricing research and analysis to anticipate the success of new models or pricing optimizations in the market.
- Work closely with Sales, CSO and Finance to optimize pricing analytics and reporting to focus team efforts on profitable revenue generation.
- Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of pricing strategies, providing actionable recommendations to senior executives and stakeholders.
Required Skills and Experience
- 10-15+ years of experience in pricing strategy, revenue management, business operations, or related fields, with significant leadership responsibility.
- Expertise in SaaS, subscription-based pricing, and customer lifetime value optimization.
- Proven ability to research, design, and operationalize innovative pricing models and governance processes.
- Sophisticated understanding of market dynamics, price sensitivity/elasticity, and competitor pricing strategies.
- Robust analytical skills, with experience modeling out the impact of potential pricing changes and conducting a price sensitivity analysis
- Strong business judgment and the ability to align pricing strategies with corporate objectives.
Soft Skills
- Exceptional leadership and team-building abilities, with experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all organizational levels.
- Adept at fostering collaboration and building consensus among diverse stakeholders.
- Proactive and solution-oriented, with a track record of driving transformation and continuous improvement.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $150,000 USDMIN – $270,000USD MAX per year, plus a corporate bonus. Final compensation offered by Qlik will be based on factors such as the candidate’s location, job-related skills, education, experience, and other business and organizational needs.Qlik offers a comprehensive benefits package.
