Overview
The Department of Psychology at Utah State University seeks candidates for a Clinical Assistant Professor position in Psychology. This is a non-tenure track position that is eligible for promotion. Applicants will be expected to teach assessment courses within the school psychology and combined clinical/counseling graduate programs and supervise assessments in the psychology training clinic at the Sorenson Legacy Foundation Center for Clinical Excellence. Located on the main campus in Logan, Utah, this is a 1 FTE, 9-month academic year position with two summer months provided for ongoing supervision of graduate students. Effort will consist of 95% teaching/supervision and 5% service. Review of applications will begin October 15, 2025, and will continue until the position is filled. The start date is August 1, 2026. The position is contingent on a successful background check.

Responsibilities
- Teach the equivalent of a 4-4 load of assessment courses and assessment supervision. Targeted courses include PSY 6310 (Intellectual Assessment), PSY 6410 (Psychoeducational Assessment), PSY 6810 (Advanced Assessment), and PSY 6380 (School Psychology Practicum).
- Supervise graduate students engaged in clinic-based evaluations of learning and neurodevelopmental concerns (e.g., specific learning disability, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder) as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Engage in service to support the needs of the school psychology program and psychology department.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- A doctoral degree in Psychology from an APA- or CPA-accredited program (by August 2026).
- Ability to be licensed as a psychologist in Utah within one year of hire.
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal skills as well as ability to work well in a team setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to receive Psychology license in Utah prior to start date
- Completion of an APA-accredited internship.
- Experience working in interdisciplinary teams.
- Licensed as a psychologist for at least 2 years.
- Experience and training in autism evaluations, including proficiency with the ADOS-2.
- Experience in school settings providing school psychology services.
- Experience providing clinical supervision to psychology trainees.
- History of successful university course instruction.

The Department of Psychology is located within the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services. The Department consists of over 30 faculty representing diverse areas of psychology. The Department offers PhD specializations in School Psychology, Combined Clinical/Counseling Psychology, Behavior Analysis, and Brain and Cognition. The Sorenson Legacy Foundation Center for Clinical Excellence (SCCE; https://cehs.usu.edu/scce/) provides comprehensive clinical services and applied training across the lifespan, integrating across multiple programs and departments. Services are provided by teams of dedicated trainees and professionals who also engage in cutting-edge research related to clinical practices and interventions. Services provided in the SCCE include: Hearing and Balance, Speech-Language, Behavioral Health (including Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling), and applied behavior analysis services. The Behavior Health clinic includes assessment services that involve comprehensive evaluations for youth and adults with suspected developmental / behavioral concerns.
