Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (degree in nursing)
- Current Professional Nurse License issued and/or recognized by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- RN circulator with OR clinical educator experience
- Clinical IT experience with knowledge of building clinical systems including preference cards and charge sheets
- Proficiency with relevant software
- 2-5 years of experience
- Willingness to relocate
- Occasional travel
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, facilitate and/or teach continuing education classes
- Maintain unit education records and oversee staff education files
- Act as a catalyst for change and adapt to change in a positive and professional manner
- Perform OR circulator duties for break/lunch relief and some circulating duties for call-ins/vacations
- Provide computer training and IT support for Cerner Surginet program including building preference cards and charge sheets
- Conduct policy and procedure analysis; annual safety training and AORN perioperative classes
- May be required to respond to calls and perform additional assignments
