Bexar County is the county government serving San Antonio and surrounding communities in south-central Texas. Its offices administer courts, elections, public safety, records, infrastructure, health and human services, taxation and other local responsibilities. Elected officials and professional departments manage programs under state and county law while maintaining facilities and services used by the public. The organization employs people across legal, administrative, technical, public safety and operational fields rather than functioning as a private business. Public-service roles span administration, operations, technical work and direct community support.
