Requirements
  • Doctorate of Medicine or Osteopathy degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Residency training in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, or Adolescent Medicine.
  • Two years of experience practicing after residency.
  • Maryland medical license, or eligibility to obtain one by the agreed-upon start date.
  • Board certification within one year of employment.
  • CDS and DEA registrations.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of adult medicine, family medicine, and primary care.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining a commitment to customer service.
  • Ability to maintain all required licenses, registrations, and certifications throughout employment.
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive primary and acute care services to students, faculty, and staff of the University of Maryland campus community.
  • Maintain timely and accurate electronic medical records.
  • Coordinate diagnostic testing with laboratory and radiology departments, interpret results, optimize medication management, and ensure timely, comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with specialty areas including gynecology, sexual health, gender-affirming care, and psychiatry.
  • Directly oversee a team of medical providers and provide mentorship, feedback, and performance evaluations.
  • Contribute to peer-review processes and implement clinical protocols in Primary Care.
  • Work with the Associate Director of Medical Services and Clinic Nurse Manager to ensure operational effectiveness and high standards of care.
  • Participate in committees and workgroups to develop programs addressing the evolving needs of a diverse student body.
  • Partner with Psychiatry and Substance Use services to support integrated health.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful work environment.
  • Support evidence-based decision-making to promote equitable care for students.
  • Balance clinical practice with 10–20% protected time for leadership and administrative tasks.
  • Work some evenings and weekends as required.
  • Maintain required licenses, registrations, and certifications for the duration of employment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Board certification in Pediatrics with an Adolescent Medicine focus, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine.
  • At least two years of demonstrated experience supervising medical providers.
  • Experience managing a primary care unit in an ambulatory clinical setting.
  • Experience practicing in a college or student health service environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine.
  • Commitment to supporting young adults as they navigate the healthcare system and to providing thoughtful, inclusive leadership.
