Requirements
  • Five or more years of full-cycle enterprise software sales, ideally in infrastructure, security, developer tools, or platform categories with technical buyers.
  • A track record of closing deals with multi-stakeholder enterprise buying committees rather than transactional or single-threaded sales.
  • Comfort selling a category without an established budget line and helping buyers understand the problem before comparing vendors.
  • Genuine curiosity about the technology, including understanding why agent governance differs from API governance and explaining that distinction clearly to a skeptical platform engineer.
  • A bias toward building repeatable sales systems by documenting what works rather than handling deals inconsistently.
Responsibilities
  • Run full-cycle enterprise sales from discovery and technical evaluation through procurement and close across multi-stakeholder buying committees involving platform engineering, security, and finance.
  • Sell to platform and security teams building internal artificial intelligence infrastructure and navigate to vice president- and chief information security officer-level approval when needed.
  • Partner with product and engineering during technical evaluations, answering architecture questions directly or bringing the appropriate subject-matter expert into the discussion.
  • Build qualification and forecasting discipline so each deal contributes to understanding the market.
  • Work closely with the founders on positioning, pricing, and deal strategy.
  • Represent Dome at conferences, communities, and forums where platform and security engineers participate.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience at an early-stage startup from seed to Series B is a strong plus.
  • Experience selling to platform engineering or security teams specifically is a strong plus.

Dome Systems builds agent-native infrastructure to give enterprises a consistent system of control over AI agents. It creates a unified governance layer that works across clouds, data systems, and SaaS tools so AI agents can be deployed securely and reliably at scale. The platform treats every agent as three parts—code (runtime and orchestration), a model (reasoning engine), and tools (external interactions)—and connects to all systems to identify agents, checks every action against policy before it runs, and records every governed decision for auditing. Unlike tools that only manage who can access agents, Dome Systems focuses on governing the decisions agents make in real time. The goal is to manage the growing “agentic estate” so businesses can innovate quickly while staying secure and compliant.

What believers are saying

  • April 2026 seed funding from Redpoint, Bessemer, and Mango validates the thesis.
  • July 2026 early access targets select enterprises, signaling active buyer pull.
  • AI agent governance demand surged in 2026 as enterprises need cross-platform control.

What critics are saying

  • Microsoft Agent 365 and Entra Agent ID compress Dome’s control-plane differentiation by 2026.
  • Zenity, Noma Security, and WitnessAI crowd the category with larger funding and distribution.
  • Dome’s $14 million seed limits enterprise sales coverage; category leaders can outspend it.

What makes Dome Systems unique

  • Dave McJannet’s HashiCorp pedigree gives Dome credibility with infrastructure buyers.
  • Dome unifies agent discovery, policy enforcement, and audit trails across runtimes.
  • Its source-level event model records every governed action for compliance and incident reconstruction.

Dave McJannet, Dome Systems CEO: A Fortt Knox Update

I speak with Ex-HashiCorp CEO Dave McJannet about his new company, Dome Systems. He just exited stealth with a $14M seed co-led by Redpoint and Bessemer (Mango participating). McJannet argues agentic apps are probabilistic — Waymo-style — which breaks cloud-era access-control governance. Dome becomes the compliance system across every agent, runtime and cloud. He frames agentic AI as the next platform transition after cloud.
