Responsibilities
  • Provides direct patient care utilizing the nursing process within established hospital, divisional and unit specific policies and procedures, standards, protocol.
  • Establishes priorities of care, nursing actions and desired outcome in clinical care for all patients.
  • Works within the policy of homecare to deliver the mission, vision and core values of the organization.
  • Assumes responsibility in delivering quality, nursing care and advocacy for patient’s welfare through demonstration of evidence-based practice.
  • Performs nursing duties within clinical scope of practice and professional code of conduct as directed by Nursing Administration, DOH PQR and UAE Nursing Norms.
  • Provide care through demonstration of appropriate knowledge and clinical assessment skills relevant to Homecare and performs their roles according to best practice competency framework and professional knowledge and experience.
  • Demonstrate high level of infection prevention knowledge and actions in the Homecare setting and reports any issue according to PHS policy and infection framework.
  • Document all assessment, interventions and other necessary information in the patient’s medical records according to Pyramids Health Services policy and international standards of documentation.
  • Ensures continuity of patients care through oral and written communication to the multidisciplinary team according to the needs of the patients as well as establishing a collaborative interaction with the parent’s families.
  • Assumes personal and professional responsibility towards initial and annual completion of clinical competencies and registration license.
  • Demonstrate direct and appropriate action in urgent and emergency situations and demonstrate ability for decision making and leadership.
  • Attends /performs educational presentations, training and seminars as required by the nursing administration.
  • Responsible to complete tasks given by the line manager as, and when required.

The panel was moderated by Ebru Yavuz, General Manager of Arabian Ethicals in the UAE, who guided the discussion on how advances in stem cell, cellular, and gene therapies are being implemented within real-world healthcare settings. The session featured Prof. Marcos De Lima, Director of Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, and Rabi Hanna, Chairman of Pediatric Hematology & Oncology and BMT, and Founding Director of the Pediatric Blood & Marrow Transplant Program at Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital, USA. Both speakers shared insights drawn from established transplant and cellular therapy programmes, highlighting recent developments as well as ongoing challenges associated with translating complex therapies into everyday clinical practice. A key focus of the panel was pediatric care, where cell and gene therapies introduce additional clinical, logistical, and ethical considerations. The discussion addressed the importance of long-term follow-up, patient selection, and institutional readiness, as well as the role of academic medical centres in setting standards and supporting sustainable growth in the field. Commenting on the panel, Ebru Yavuz noted: "Innovation in cell and gene therapy is moving quickly, but the real challenge lies in how these advances are adopted within healthcare systems. Forums like WHX Dubai allow practitioners and industry leaders to share practical experience and discuss what is needed to deliver these therapies safely and effectively in clinical settings."
