  • At least 8 years of experience in a mix of systems engineering, architecture development, and technical project management is required.

Responsibilities
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs for NASIC processing, exploitation, and dissemination software, architectures, and networks.
  • Assist software architecture users in developing and prioritizing requirements as a Product Owner.
  • Advise software development teams in understanding stakeholder requirements and delivering software and architecture that satisfies those requirements.
  • Develop and communicate product vision, goals, and deliverables to developers, technically diverse stakeholders, and Government customers.
  • Advise on incorporating software product development into cloud architectures.
  • Coordinate efforts across multiple development teams to facilitate common architecture solutions across the NASIC enterprise.
  • Provide technical leadership and advice on the vision, design, and oversight of complex projects spanning hardware and software solutions.
  • Apply systems engineering methodologies to enhance research and development and acquisition processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree in systems engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or information technology related technical fields.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a mix of systems engineering, architecture development, and technical project management in support of the Intelligence Community or Department of Defense.
  • Experience working with software developers, system architects, and system engineers.
  • Experience with NASIC processing, exploitation, and dissemination.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies or Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner.
  • Familiarity with the Unified Architecture Framework or Systems Modeling Language, including creation of Block Definition Diagrams, Internal Block Diagrams, Use Case Diagrams, and Activity Diagrams displaying operational, system, capability, and data views.
  • Experience engineering or implementing operational prototypes.
  • Experience with DevSecOps or cross-domain solutions.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures.
  • Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, databases, Python, Istio, Helm, GitLab, Elastic, Tableau, Confluence, Jira, or related technologies.

Riverside Research has partnered with Tera AI to provide navigation solutions for autonomous systems operating without GPS. The collaboration addresses vulnerabilities in electronic warfare environments where GPS systems face jamming or spoofing. Tera AI's DeepSLAM technology uses passive cameras to create real-time 3D maps of unknown areas. The system enables autonomous platforms to determine location and navigate without GPS dependency. Dr Tony Zhang, Tera AI founder, explained that autonomous systems have historically relied on controlled environments and GPS. As jamming becomes more common, real-time spatial intelligence is essential for mission success. Riverside Research opens $250K Illinois office to tap university talent in electromagnetics and radar

Riverside Research, a national security nonprofit, has opened a new office in the University of Illinois Research Park in Champaign, Illinois. The company relocated from its previous Champaign location to a 2,800-square-foot facility at 2021 S. 1st Street, supporting 10 employees. Headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia, Riverside Research invested $80,000 in office renovations and will invest over $250,000 during its three-year lease term. The new location focuses on computational electromagnetics, software development, physics-based modelling and simulation, and radar systems. The move places employees directly on the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign campus, providing access to talent in physics, electrical engineering, computer science, and computer engineering. The nonprofit serves the Department of War and Intelligence Community through its Open Innovation Centre.
