What believers are saying

  • September 3, 2026 CBUAE approval opens stored-value and retail payment services.
  • February 2026 SuperPay added supplier payments to 40-plus countries with zero transfer fees.
  • June 2026 AI-native business bank account deepens workflows and expands monetization across finance teams.

What critics are saying

  • September 2026 approvals remain in-principle only; final CBUAE rejection blocks customer funds.
  • Alaan depends on ruya’s banking rails; partner failures disrupt payments and card issuance.
  • Banks and spend platforms like Wio, Brex, and Ramp compress pricing and retention.
  • If UAE licensing stalls into 2027, Alaan stays a software wrapper, not a bank.

What makes Alaan unique

  • June 2026: Alaan bundled cards, payments, invoicing, and accounting into one AI-native workflow.
  • September 2026: 3,000+ finance teams use Alaan across G42, Careem, Tabby, and Lulu.
  • Alaan’s Shariah-compliant corporate cards and zero-fee cross-border transfers target UAE finance operations.
