Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience handling workers' compensation cases in New York.
  • Familiarity with Workers' Compensation Board procedures, eCase, and New York workers' compensation filings.
  • Proficiency with legal case management software.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with competing deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Required written and verbal communication in both English and Spanish.
  • Ability to commute to New York, New York 10018.
Responsibilities
  • Manage a full caseload of workers' compensation matters from intake through resolution.
  • Conduct initial client intakes and gather relevant documentation.
  • Communicate with clients regularly.
  • Draft and send HIPAA authorizations and follow up with medical providers to obtain records.
  • Prepare correspondence, settlement documents, Section 32 agreements, and hearing requests.
  • File requests for hearings and monitor case status through the Workers' Compensation Board eCase system.
  • Communicate with insurance adjusters, employers, treating physicians, and defense counsel.
  • Send independent medical examination notices and coordinate deposition scheduling.
  • Maintain the firm calendar and track deadlines, hearings, and appearances.
  • Maintain detailed, up-to-date case notes and file documentation in the firm's case management system.
  • Conduct client communications in both English and Spanish.
