Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a computer-science-related field or equivalent work experience; equivalent experience is defined as four years of professional work experience in a corporate environment.
  • At least five years of systems and programming experience.
  • At least one year of experience with information technology concepts, application development methodology, terminology, and standards.
  • Expert working knowledge of at least one programming language in use at BCBST.
  • A technical background designing and documenting integration solutions while ensuring interoperability, security, and performance.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and tools relevant to integration and application development.
  • Experience with application programming interface design, development, and management.
  • Analysis, design, and coding skills, with demonstrated success leading large and complex projects.
  • Ability to interpret and translate technical or complex concepts into information meaningful to project team members and business personnel.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical coworkers.
  • Availability for an on-call rotation of approximately one full week every six weeks and after-hours deployment activities.
  • Ability to work Eastern Time hours.
Responsibilities
  • Formulate and define system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to design, develop, modify, or integrate complex information systems.
  • Devise or modify application systems and procedures to optimize capacity, operating time, response time, and desired results.
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document programs, subroutines, and scripts.
  • Develop and implement program and system test plans, data verification methods, and standard system procedures.
  • Respond to system failures and performance events to reduce system downtime and prevent recurrence of problems.
  • Conduct research on software and hardware products to support recommendations and budgeting and purchasing efforts.
  • Act as an expert technical resource to development staff throughout development and implementation.
  • Build and support enterprise application programming interfaces across their full lifecycle, including design, delivery, production support, incident response, release management, deployments, performance, governance, and platform health.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience within the healthcare industry.
  • Hands-on experience with IBM API Connect.
