What believers are saying

  • The Federal Council invited MEDCAN into 2026 legalization consultations.
  • CannaTrade 2026 drew national and international speakers, expanding MEDCAN’s network.
  • MEDCAN’s 2025 report and 2026 membership push signal sustained grassroots demand.

What critics are saying

  • Swiss insurers still reimburse cannabis case-by-case, keeping access expensive and bureaucratic.
  • 2026 policy shifts favor licensed medicines, squeezing individualized cannabis therapy demand.
  • If legalization sidesteps patient reimbursement, MEDCAN loses relevance and members to cheaper alternatives.

What makes Medcan unique

  • MEDCAN is Switzerland’s patient-led medical cannabis voice, not an industry lobby group.
  • It pairs advocacy with practical education through CannaTrade 2026 and clinical conferences.
  • Its 2026 consultation response separates medical cannabis from recreational legalization debates.
