The Sander for Jackson Go Fast Mill will work in the sanding pre paint (and intersand when needed) production process, as well as other production tasks in the Mill as directed by the Team leader or Supervisor/Manager. The Sander will be responsible for the sanding and semi-finishing of electric guitar bodies, necks and Neck-thrus. Sanding will be done both using power tools and by hand, the incumbent will be responsible also for quality control of production, making corrections to irregularities and cleanup of immediate work area.
Essential Functions
- Good verbal and written communication skills so that effective feedback is provided to the Team leader /Supervisor.
- Contributes to department/unit teamwork, adapts to change and fast working environment.
- Ability to develop and/or implement new and improved ways of doing work. Makes suggestions to Team leader/ supervisor that could improve departmental effectiveness and better accomplish work goals.
- Sanding skills, woodworking and finishing skills.
- 6 months – 1-year related experience and/or training, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions.
- Will perform frets/inlay/binding assembly, CNC machine loading/unloading
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience and/or training preferred but not required.
- Guitar or musical background preferred but not required.
- SUCCESSFUL Candidate MUST PASS E-Verify document/background check.
Equipment Used
Metal Carts, Work Bench, cloth towels, sandpaper, air hoses, and other sanding supplies. Air spray gun, air sander, belt sander, Joiner, Planer, Pin router, Timesaver, power drill, power router, drill press. Safety glasses, closed toe shoes, dust face mask, and earplugs (optional).

Subject to the foregoing, the current pay rate for this position is $19.50 per hour.
