Requirements
  • B.S. Degree in electrical engineering or higher
  • 5-10 years’ experience in electrical engineering preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with embedded system design with micro controller integration
  • Experience with PCB routing and high frequency signal routing
  • Experience with electrical system design tools and simulation software (e.g., Altium, SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, PSpice)
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position
Responsibilities
  • Design and build electrical and electronic hardware to enable human exploration of space
  • Work on a collaborative team developing Astrolab/Axiom’s LTV crew interfaces
  • Inspire the Agile development of safe, reliable, ready to install hardware that meets requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Serve as a Responsible Engineer (RE) and develop integrated design solutions, rapidly assess conceptual designs, and establish system requirements and performance parameters
  • Develop and manage requirements for hardware
  • Ensure designs satisfy requirements and demonstrate performance in a thorough verification and validation program
  • Perform trade studies for technology development
  • Analyze data and make recommendations for improvement
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications
  • Plan and perform testing of components and integrated assemblies
  • Oversee the integration of electrical systems into larger projects, ensuring system functionality, reliability, and safety
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, and mechanical engineering to ensure cohesive system design
  • Conduct detailed analysis and simulation of physical systems to predict performance and identify potential issues
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and fostering a learning environment
  • Drive innovation in electrical system design, exploring new technologies and methodologies to enhance product capabilities
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables related to electrical engineering tasks
  • Prepare and present technical reports, design documentation, and project updates to stakeholders
  • Perform other duties as assigned
