Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or backend engineering, preferably at a high-growth or AI-native company.
  • Strong fundamentals in service-oriented architectures, networking, and systems design. You can reason about how data and traffic flow through a distributed system and what breaks first.
  • Proficient in TypeScript, with hands-on experience operating production services on Kubernetes.
  • Proven ability to take ambiguous goals from prototype to production, using customer feedback and operational data to drive product and architectural decisions.
  • Strong code and data modeling skills — clean, scalable, and easy for the next person to extend.
  • Take a product-focused approach to platform work. You measure success by whether the engineers you serve actually love and adopt what you built.
  • Use AI aggressively in your personal engineering workflow. We’re all heavy users of Claude Code, and regularly add new AI tooling across our organization.
Responsibilities
  • Platform Acceleration. Maximize the productivity of every engineer at Antimetal. You''ll architect and optimize the development infrastructure behind our agent and product work — internal admin tooling (Anvil), CI/CD, deploy pipelines, dev/demo environments, and the Claude-Code-native skills our engineers use every day to ship. Your work has a multiplier effect across the entire engineering org: when the inner loop is faster, every product team ships faster.
  • Service Infra. Build and maintain the core infrastructure that powers Antimetal''s services — service architecture on Kubernetes, deployment pipelines, observability (OTEL, Datadog), shared libraries, secret management, and the platform abstractions that let product teams ship reliable services without thinking about the substrate. You''ll set the bar for what "production-ready" means at Antimetal.
  • Data Infrastructure. Data is the substrate everything else at Antimetal runs on top of — evaluations, intelligence, experimentation, the product experience itself. If the data is wrong, thin, or disorganized, every layer above compounds the failure. You''ll own the schema, storage, and access patterns for the systems we depend on most: investigation traces, agent trajectories, the resource graph, customer telemetry, and the typed blobs that capture state we don''t yet know how to structure. You''ll hold the line that data integrity is non-negotiable, know when to normalize and when to defer structure, and reach for the simplest primitive that will carry us the longest before adding heavier tooling.
  • Connectivity. Our agents are only as good as the data and tools they can reach. You''ll own the MCP gateway that routes every tool call, the OAuth and credential management that keeps customer integrations authenticated, the deployment and lifecycle of self-hosted MCP servers, and the unified integration catalog that powers both first-class integrations and the long tail. Reliability and enterprise trust are the bar: token refresh at scale, health checks that fire before customers notice, isolation that holds when partner servers misbehave.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with MCP, OAuth, API gateways, or multi-tenant integration platforms.
  • Experience with modern observability (OTEL, distributed tracing) and SRE best practices.
  • Experience building internal admin or developer tooling consumed by both humans and agents.
  • Experience working on agent or LLM systems — context management, tool use, sandboxing.

Antimetal uses artificial intelligence to help businesses reduce AWS cloud costs automatically. It analyzes spending patterns and can execute actions like optimizing instances and trading reserved instances with minimal user effort. The platform targets organizations spending over $1 million on AWS and offers tiered plans, including a free option for startups, financed by subscriptions plus a risk and credit model. Its goal is to help companies cut cloud spend safely so they can focus on their core activities.

What believers are saying

  • Series A funding enables expansion beyond AWS to Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure platforms.
  • Infrastructure automation beta reduces incident rates and engineering maintenance burden for DevOps teams.
  • AWS Marketplace listing streamlines enterprise procurement and integration for Fortune 500 customers.

What critics are saying

  • AWS native AI cost optimization in Bedrock directly replicates Antimetal's core analysis capabilities.
  • ProsperOps captures enterprise customers with more aggressive Reserved Instance automation and higher savings.
  • Security breach in read-access credentials exposes customer spend data, triggering enterprise churn.

What makes Antimetal unique

  • AI Autopilot automatically buys and sells AWS instances three times faster than AWS Marketplace.
  • Unified platform combines cost optimization, infrastructure automation, and financial forecasting in one solution.
  • Group discounts pool customer spend to unlock enterprise-level AWS pricing for smaller companies.

Antimetal Secures $20M to Simplify Infrastructure

Antimetal has raised $20 million in a Series A round led by Sound Ventures to address infrastructure complexity. The company launched a beta platform to automate infrastructure management, allowing engineers to focus on building rather than maintenance. The platform adapts to team behaviors, automating workflows and reducing incidents. Other investors include Buckley Ventures, Nat Friedman, and founders from Digital Ocean, Box, and Dropbox. Early access is available, with a general release planned later.
