Requirements
  • Current Massachusetts registered Nurse license required
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required
  • BSN preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of previous critical care or nursing experience in acute care or sub-acute setting required
  • Telemetry experience required, critical care preferred
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive pre-, intra-, and post-care to patients undergoing gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures
  • Perform and assist with endoscopic procedures including endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography for bile duct obstruction and gallstones, endoscopic ultrasound for diagnosis and staging of esophageal cancer and treatment of gastrointestinal bleeding with hemostatic techniques and expandable stent placement, radiofrequency ablation and cryotherapy, per-oral endoscopic myotomy, routine endoscopies such as colonoscopy and upper endoscopy, esophageal manometry and pH monitoring using catheter-based and Bravo-capsule ambulatory systems
  • Maintain and operate endoscopy equipment and assist with instrumentation as part of the endoscopy team
  • Monitor patient status during endoscopy and recovery period, including vital signs, anesthesia considerations if applicable, and post-procedure recovery care
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure regulatory compliance for endoscopic procedures
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records related to endoscopy procedures and patient care
  • On-call duties including weekends approximately every 10 weeks, holidays once per year, and two weeknights per month on call
