Requirements
  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two to three years of relevant work experience.
  • Prior experience in facilities or custodial services.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on customer service.
  • Must have a record of excellent attendance and dependability.
  • Thorough understanding of safety procedures to avoid accidents arising from product or equipment misuse.
  • Excellent physical condition and ability to perform repetitive lifting of up to 100 lbs.
  • Interact effectively with stakeholders and co-workers while maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
  • Perform self-directed work to accomplish goals required.

Responsibilities
  • Facility Management: Ensure adherence to quality, health, and safety standards, complying with fire codes.
  • Troubleshoot and respond to routine and emergency maintenance issues.
  • Maintain and update inventory of spaces, furnishings, and equipment.
  • Interface with building users for the proper operation of office equipment.
  • Coordinate with environmental health and safety teams and manage emergency logistics.
  • Ensure adherence to established facility use procedures and policies.
  • Infrastructure Oversight: Manage facility infrastructure, monitoring heating, cooling, and electrical systems.
  • Oversee vendor contracts, ensuring Certificates of Insurance are current.
  • Build and maintain the annual facility budget; reconcile expenses monthly.
  • Serve as the main contact with building management, recommending necessary repairs.
  • Conference Center Coordination: Primarily responsible for set-up and dismantling conference setups according to event requirements.
  • Provide media assistant support and arrange furnishings for special events.
  • Maintain compliance with health guidelines for food service and catering areas.
  • Register participants and guests using building management guest systems.
  • Mail Services Management: Handle the physical security of the mail sorting facility.
  • Sort and distribute U.S. and campus mail and process shipments, maintaining organization and compliance.
  • Communicate with mail recipients, manage inventory, and update mailing procedures.
  • Health and Safety Coordination: Coordinate building evacuation and emergency management logistics.
  • Oversee CPR and AED certifications and training for emergency personnel.
  • Ensure annual compliance with safety regulations, including the Clery Act.
  • Operational Support: Assist technology services with equipment moves and maintaining workstations.
  • Participate in projects and complete university-required compliance training.
  • Manage common areas, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
Desired Qualifications
  • Trade certification desirable.
  • Experience with Windows desktop systems, classroom projection systems, setting up Zoom (or similar) online meetings, and presentation software.
  • Familiarity with emergency procedure protocols.
