Consultant, HEOR (PRO)
Position Overview
We are looking for an ambitious Health Economist and Outcomes Researcher [HEOR] to join our growing and highly talented team as a Consultant. The position will suit someone with 3+ years’ experience in health economics who wants to further develop their technical skills around the measurement of patient-reported outcomes, including the application of advanced statistical analyses and the development of tools for primary data collection.
Purpose of the role:
- to contribute to a range of mixed-methods and/or quantitative health economics and outcomes research projects as member of the patient-reported outcomes (PRO) team; projects typically include health valuation and utility measurement, analysis of outcomes data, burden of illness surveys, patient preference studies and development of patient-reported outcome measures.
Desired Skills and Experience
Functional technical expertise
- Higher degree (PhD or MSc) is required.
- A degree in health economics or related methodological discipline (i.e., economics, epidemiology, pharmacy, medical sciences) preferred, but not required
- Ability to work independently, but also as part of a cross-functional team
- In depth knowledge of health economics and methodologies for the analysis of patient-reported outcomes (e.g., utility measurement, analysis and development of patient reported outcome measures, development of (online) surveys, costing studies)
- Experience of designing and implementing health economics and/or PRO studies (including patient surveys and surveys for members of the general population)
- Exceptional writing skills, including the preparation of detailed reports and manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals
- Good knowledge of statistical software packages (e.g. Stata, R)
- Excellent quantitative skills, including econometrics
- Evidence of project management skills
- Good knowledge of HTA methods and processes as well as different global HTA environments
- Able to clearly communicate complex technical issues
- Fluency in English
- Excellent MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel skills
- Experience in advanced statistical methods, HTML/Javascript, experience with Qualtrics and/or successful proposal development are an advantage!
