MODE Global collaborates with HappyRobot to automate critical operations. February 09, 2026 09:13 ET | Source: MODE Global DALLAS, Feb. 09, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - MODE Global, one of the nation's largest non-asset logistics providers, and HappyRobot, AI-native logistics startup, announce a strategic collaboration to automate core freight operations, beginning with inbound carrier coverage and progressing to booking and tracking. The partnership brings together MODE's scale and operational expertise with HappyRobot's AI workforce and orchestration to improve speed-to-cover, reduce manual work and strengthen carrier experience across MODE's network. Leveraging Early Wins for Expansion The partnership began by automating a critical, high-volume workflow - Inbound Carrier Sales - to gauge impact. Early success here across carrier vetting, lane pitching and negotiations set the foundation for the partnership to follow. These early signs of success included increased speed to cover with first response times cut to zero and 100% answer rates. Carrier vetting, combining third-party integrations with proprietary classifications, ensures intense scrutiny on fraud detection. And finally, lane negotiations show foundations for improved margins. Beyond this, the partnership was established on shared principles for new ways of working in the era of AI, and the collaboration required between operational leaders like MODE and technologists like HappyRobot to get there. "Our collaboration with MODE Global has been incredibly insightful and rewarding. We're proud to partner with a truly forward-thinking organization," said HappyRobot CEO Pablo Palafox. "I'm excited for what we'll build together in 2026 and beyond." Scaling Partnership Towards Further Autonomy The next phases of partnership include robustifying existing workflows, expanding automation across all offices and deploying priority workflows such as outbound carrier sales and track and trace. Perfecting inbound carrier sales means tighter integrations post proof of concept, which allow for more real-time data flow and expanded execution capabilities for AI workers to take on further autonomy, building on the trust gained during testing. The two companies remain aligned on enabling the MODE team to do more, book more and double down on difference makers like customer relationships, exception handling and strategic decision making. In each workflow, AI autonomy covers standard flows, leaving more human time to solve the most critical challenges at hand. A New Way of Operating "We selected HappyRobot as a partner because of their robust technology, deep industry knowledge and engineering teams that accelerated our speed to value and unlocked untapped potential for our operations," said MODE Global's President and CEO, Lance Malesh. Operating as an extension of the MODE Global team, HappyRobot is working side by side with technical and operations teams to deliver value fast while satisfying technical and compliance requirements. This close collaboration allows the teams to iterate quickly toward a new operational model for MODE Global, where a comprehensive digital workforce ensures operations are executed efficiently at scale and leverages real-time data to provide strategic insight to their human counterparts. With AI automating manual work and providing greater access to information and insight, the MODE team is able to double down on what makes them different. DHL Group deploys HappyRobot AI agents to improve operational efficiency and communications. DHL Group is accelerating the implementation of AI in its enterprise-wide strategy through a new partnership with its contract logistics division, DHL SupplyChain, and the AI startup HappyRobot. The collaboration seeks to deploy agentic AI to streamline operational communication and enhance both customer experience and employee engagement. DHL Supply Chain already uses HappyRobot across several regions and use cases, including appointment scheduling, driver follow-up calls and high-priority warehouse coordination. The AI agents can autonomously handle phone and email interactions, enabling faster, more consistent and scalable communication, DHL Group said. Sally Miller CIO of DHL Supply Chain, said that the division has been identifying and validating operational use cases for generative and agentic AI for over 18 months. "Building on our extensive operational experience with data analytics, robotic process automation and self-learning software tools, we are now integrating AI agents to drive greater process efficiency for customers while making operational roles more engaging and rewarding for employees by automating repetitive and time-consuming tasks such as manual data entry, routine scheduling and standardized communications," she said. Lindsay Bridges, EVP human resources at DHL Supply Chain, said that the implementation also enhanced the capability of the workforce: "In today's tight labor markets, where qualified talent is increasingly scarce, these technologies allow us to maintain - and even improve - responsiveness, customer centricity and service consistency, while making roles more attractive and sustainable." HappyRobot's platform enables fully autonomous AI agents to interact via phone, email and messaging, while integrating with DHL's internal systems. Pablo Palafox, CEO of HappyRobot, said, "We envision AI workers coordinating global supply chain operations - not just moving data, but actively managing workflows. DHL recognized early on the potential of AI agents as a new operating layer - one that brings speed, visibility and consistency to logistics."
HappyRobot has secured $1 million from WaVe-X in a $44 million funding round to enhance AI logistics automation. The focus is on using AI to optimize supply chains by predicting disruptions and improving efficiency, rather than replacing workers. This investment highlights AI's potential to transform logistics, addressing vulnerabilities in the global supply chain. The shift will require reskilling workers for roles like data scientists and AI specialists, emphasizing collaboration between humans and AI.
NTT DOCOMO Ventures invests in HappyRobot, a u.s.-based innovator in AI Worker platforms. NTT DOCOMO Ventures is pleased to announce that, through a fund that it manages, it has invested in HappyRobot, a company providing a platform for AI Workers. The HappyRobot AI Worker Platform HappyRobot offers a platform that builds and operates "AI Workers" capable of autonomously performing a wide range of tasks such as phone calls, emails, chat, and document processing. With this capability, enterprises can delegate repetitive tasks including call center operations and document handling to AI, enabling significant cost reductions and improved operational efficiency. Unlike single-function automation, the HappyRobot AI Workers feature long-term contextual memory, compounding intelligence, and strong integration with existing systems, delivering proven results across diverse business domains. Their adoption is already expanding among major global enterprises, where outcomes such as increasing operational velocity from months to hours have been observed. For example, HappyRobot has reported achieving a 19x return on investment in outbound sales calls using its AI Workers. Amid the global trend of leveraging AI to improve operational efficiency and address labor shortages, the HappyRobot AI Workers are positioned not merely as tools to supplement human tasks, but as autonomous entities capable of carrying out work without presupposing human involvement. This transformative approach has the potential to fundamentally change the way businesses operate. As a next-generation platform company driving automation through AI, HappyRobot is expected to achieve further growth in the years ahead. NTT DOCOMO Group aims to drive innovation across society and industry by supporting digital transformation (DX) for enterprises, thereby contributing to the future of local communities and economies. Through this investment in HappyRobot, a company tackling the automation of white-collar work with AI, we will deepen our collaboration and advance initiatives to create new value. HappyRobot is an enterprise-grade platform to build, deploy, and manage an AI workforce. They work with supply chain enterprises to automate end-to-end tasks at scale, leveraging communication, document parsing, web browsing, and other models to offload complex tasks from human teams. HappyRobot enables enterprises to move faster, automate information exchange, and get real time data visibility across the organization. Common use cases include inbound and outbound sales, shipment updates, scheduling, payment collections, recruiting, and support, working across the organization as an AI partner.
