Requirements
  • An earned master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in accounting.
  • An earned related or out-of-field master's degree from a regionally accredited institution with documented 18 post-secondary semester hours or equivalent of courses in accounting beyond the introductory principles level.
  • An earned related or out-of-field master's degree from a regionally accredited institution with documentation in two or more of the following: in-field professional certification; three years of in-field professional employment; documented evidence of teaching excellence; documentation of research and publication in the field; or documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor's degree equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, continuing education units, vendor, or military coursework.
  • An earned bachelor's degree in accounting from a regionally accredited institution with documentation in two or more of the following: in-field professional certification; two years of in-field professional employment; documented evidence of teaching excellence; documentation of research and publication in the field; or documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor's degree equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, continuing education units, vendor, or military coursework.
  • An earned bachelor's degree in a related business field from a regionally accredited institution with an active Certified Public Accountant certification.

  • Demonstrate the ability to promote an environment reflecting the broad backgrounds represented by students and employees, in which every individual feels respected and valued.
Responsibilities
  • Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
  • Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
  • Supplement and alter, where appropriate, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
  • Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
  • Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
  • Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.
  • Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner while complying with College policies, guidelines, and expectations.
  • Maintain a safe, quality educational environment.
  • Conduct all responsibilities within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
