Requirements
  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline is required.
  • A minimum of eight years of related experience, including at least two years of managerial experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.

Responsibilities
  • Develop the strategy for designing scalable test automation frameworks.
  • Define the roadmap for test case management and test execution.
  • Develop the strategy for evaluating automation tools and conduct proof-of-concepts to identify best-fit solutions.
  • Develop the strategy for completing quality checkpoints and help identify success criteria for various test categories.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the test framework using test coverage and key performance indicators.
  • Provide empirical data, including test results and defect metrics, to support quality-checkpoint strategy.
  • Assess the progress and effectiveness of testing efforts and monitor and analyze test results and defect metrics.
  • Create materials for testing kick-offs, testing trainings, and other quality-related topics.
  • Assess opportunities for test automation.
  • Establish a test-case creation strategy and execute tests as needed.
  • Develop and implement procedures, methods, standards, and controls to support effective testing, monitor compliance, mitigate testing risks, and achieve team results.
  • Work with project managers, product vendors, and system integrators to agree on the appropriate test approach and ensure solution quality and known issues are understood and addressed.
  • Define the required testing environment and ensure setup is complete before testing begins.
  • Manage the request-for-proposal process, including discovery, to establish appropriate quality-assurance toolsets.
  • Advocate for the appropriate level of testing based on quality, timeline, and resources.
  • Train analysts and development teams on test-case design and automation best practices and ensure adherence to defined methods, procedures, and quality objectives.
  • Report testing status, communicate risks, actions, issues, and decisions, and update testing standards and policies using feedback and lessons learned.
  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of testing services and activities, track progress, and prepare test reports.
  • Lead delivery teams, including technical and functional staff, to develop quality and testing resource plans.
  • Lead the resource-estimation process by identifying resource needs for all software development life-cycle activities requiring quality practices.
  • Enable fully automated regression cycles to reduce manual effort and improve release confidence.
  • Identify and drive automation opportunities across functional, integration, and regression testing layers.
  • Lead requirements discussions with technical and business or functional teams to understand existing integration workflows and architecture.
  • Ensure complete test coverage and provide technical and analytical guidance in testing.
  • Manage the QA testing team, including recruiting and managing testing members, assigning work, conducting performance assessments, providing training on the testing model and objectives, and communicating test results.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring on complex work by applying advanced testing expertise and judgment.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for testing issues related to specific workstreams.
  • Build and maintain working relationships and collaborate with team members participating in testing activities.
  • Provide direction or procedural instruction to analysts and developers.
  • Provide in-person or documentation-based training to the EASD team and, when required, other IT professionals or stakeholders.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Commerce, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Technology Management, or another relevant program is preferred.
  • At least eight years of cumulative software-testing experience, including requirements and test-scenario or test-case creation, test approach and strategy, test execution, test reporting, and defect management.
  • At least five years of experience in a testing leadership role, such as QA Lead.
  • Deep knowledge of test-management tools, defect-management tools, and testing-progress reporting.
  • Experience with large program implementations supporting multiple testing functions, including data management, environment management, defect tracking, and reporting.
  • Ability to work for multiple managers and balance competing priorities while completing assigned tasks.
  • Ability to handle multiple work areas effectively amid rapid change, shifting priorities, and simultaneous demands.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience developing and executing test plans and analyzing system problems.
  • A strong sense of ownership and an entrepreneurial, self-directed mindset in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to integrate into internal and external teams and communicate with technical teams.
  • Demonstrated ongoing career development through active, self-motivated professional development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A demonstrated track record and commitment to delivering results and proactively supporting applications and services.
  • Ability to conduct interviews and participate in team hiring decisions.
  • Certifications in related test management or testing areas, such as ISTQB, ASQ, QAI, PMI-RMP, or Six Sigma, are an asset.
  • Experience with automation tools and frameworks, API testing using Postman or SoapUI, and JMeter.
  • Experience with Student and Enrolment functional or system implementation, Workday, integration using MuleSoft, or automation is an asset.
