Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 8 years of work experience in the planning, design and/or operation of the bulk electrical transmission system, or a Master's Degree in Engineering and 6 years of such experience.
  • Practical experience in the design and/or operation of the electric power system is required.
  • Proficiency in PSS/E, TARA, Aspen, or equivalent power system simulation programs is required.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills are required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Effective interpersonal skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • The selected candidate must accept a System Emergency Assignment and work non-business hours during emergencies, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and perform interconnection studies on offshore wind, energy storage, public policy transmission, and other new clean energy technology projects.
  • Conduct substation power-flow and short-circuit analyses.
  • Identify local and system upgrades to maintain reliable electric system operations.
  • Manage internal engineering support activities and interface with NYISO and merchant developers.
  • Identify the impacts of new generation, transmission, and load projects on the bulk electric system and recommend modifications to NYISO.
  • Develop and deliver effective presentations.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering and 8 years of work experience in the planning, design and/or operation of the bulk electrical transmission system.
  • A Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering and 6 years of work experience in the planning, design and/or operation of the bulk electrical transmission system.

(Con Edison) (NYSE: ED) today reported 2024 net income for common stock of $1,820 million or $5.26 a share compared with $2,519 million or $7.25 a share in 2023.
