Requirements
  • Successful completion of an LPN course from an accredited school.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State.
  • At least 1 year of previous experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support training and certification.
Responsibilities
  • Act as a liaison between the patient, physician, and practice manager while administering examination facilities, medical records, and tasks associated with patient care.
  • Perform electrocardiograms, spirometry, pulmonary function tests, and other testing within the department’s scope of practice.
  • Organize patient charts and ensure that necessary documentation is in place.
  • Perform complex specimen collection, including phlebotomy, wound cultures, and finger sticks.
  • Administer subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous drugs and perform venipuncture.
  • Provide nebulizer treatments, throat cultures, urinalysis, and other office-based laboratory testing.
  • Communicate verbally, in writing, and through telephone, fax, and computer systems while handling information confidentially.
  • Multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with electronic medical records, preferably EPIC.
  • Urology experience.
