Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences is required.
  • At least 9 years of experience in a related role is required.
  • Proficiency with finite element modeling software such as ANSYS and NASTRAN and with dynamics simulation tools is required.
  • Strong understanding of vibration, shock, acoustic loads, and structural dynamics is required.
  • Experience with MIL-STD requirements related to missile systems is required.
  • Ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; and develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources is required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment to produce high-quality engineering products is required.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills are required.
  • Candidates must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest assessment process.
  • A U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required for U.S. export control compliance.
  • The position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance, and U.S. citizenship is required by the U.S. Government for that clearance.
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance after the position starts is required.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and validate detailed structural load cases and dynamic response analyses for missile airframes, magazines, propulsion systems, and subsystems using advanced modeling and simulation tools.
  • Perform finite element modeling, modal analysis, transient dynamics, vibration, shock, and impact analyses to characterize missile system behavior under operational and environmental loads.
  • Collaborate with design, test, and manufacturing teams to integrate loads and dynamics requirements into the overall design lifecycle.
  • Interpret and apply relevant military standards and specifications pertaining to structural loads, vibration, and dynamics.
  • Lead root cause analyses and provide technical direction to resolve structural and dynamic issues discovered during analysis, testing, and operation.
  • Support system-level trade studies and design optimizations to reduce weight while maintaining structural integrity and reliability.
  • Prepare, review, and approve engineering documentation, including test plans, reports, specifications, and design reviews.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide subject matter expertise in loads and dynamics disciplines.
  • Communicate technical information with internal teams, suppliers, and external agencies.

Boeing shares up 7.4% YTD as defence wins and record $597B backlog fuel turnaround hopes

Boeing secured 246 net commercial orders during the quarter and ended with a record $597 billion backlog. The 737 programme began transitioning production to 47 airplanes per month. In defence, the US Navy MQ-25A Stingray and Air Force T-7A Red Hawk both achieved Milestone C, clearing them for low-rate initial production. Boeing also signed agreements with Polish entities to support maintenance of Poland's AH-64E Apache helicopter fleet.

Archer Aviation acquires three Boeing businesses for 19.75% stake in exchange

Archer Aviation has agreed to acquire three Boeing businesses — Wisk Aero, Insitu, and SkyGrid — in exchange for newly issued Archer stock. When the deal closes, Boeing will receive a 19.75% stake in Archer's Class A shares. The acquisition significantly bolsters Archer's defense business. Insitu, a military-drone company, generates over $200 million in annual revenue, compared to Archer's $300,000 in 2025. Wisk has completed more than 1,700 eVTOL flight tests, whilst SkyGrid provides air traffic management.
