- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or have an education equivalency for licensing.
- No experience is required.
- Maintain the required professional credentials for the state of work location, including Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification and applicable registered nurse licensure, plus one applicable advanced, pediatric, neonatal, emergency, or trauma life-support certification.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Meet the listed physical requirements, including standing and walking, lifting and carrying, patient movement, communication, vision, hearing, and occasional driving.
- Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the healthcare consumer’s health or situation.
- Triage each healthcare consumer using age-, developmentally appropriate, and culturally sensitive practices to prioritize care and optimize patient flow.
- Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues.
- Identify expected outcomes and develop an individualized plan for the healthcare consumer or situation.
- Implement and coordinate care and provide education to promote health and a safe practice environment.
- Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.
- Communicate effectively in a variety of formats in all areas of practice.
- Demonstrate leadership in the professional practice setting and the nursing profession.
- Attain knowledge and competence reflecting current nursing practice.
- Apply evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge to Emergency Nursing practice, ensuring care addresses patient age-specific and clinical needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
