Requirements
  • A Master's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • A valid State of Florida Occupational Therapist license is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
  • Proficiency in office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and according to HIPPA requirements.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate and articulate sound clinical reasoning by synthesizing complex evaluation data, identifying diagnoses, and developing comprehensive care plans.
  • Develop and update appropriate care plans with measurable goals in collaboration with patients and their families, based on the person's age and lifestyle.
  • Select and administer assessment and treatment techniques and perform age-appropriate competency skills evaluations.
  • Follow intervention protocols and revise interventions appropriately.
  • Discharge patients when goals have been met or medical necessity is no longer indicated.
  • Initiate patient and family education relative to age, readiness to learn, and emotional status.
  • Use appropriate methods and materials for effective learning, monitor responses to education, and adapt programs appropriately.
  • Ensure that patients and families understand when and how to access further intervention.
  • Perform data collection for the department accurately and within the expected time frame.
  • Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
