  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be physically capable of bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, and standing for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 60 lbs. above head
  • Basic General Aviation experience with light single engine aircraft under 12,500 lbs.
  • 2 Years of electrical/wiring experience required
  • Airframe and Powerplant certificate with no enforcement actions
  • Basic computer skills
  • A valid state issued driver’s license
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
Responsibilities
  • Services, repairs, and overhauls aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure airworthiness
  • Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units
  • Reads and interprets OEM maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components
  • Examines engines for cracked cylinders and oil leaks and evaluates operating engines to detect and diagnose malfunctions
  • Inspects turbine blades to detect cracks or breaks
  • Tests engine operation, using testing equipment, such as ignition analyzer, compression checker, fuel pressure test, and ammeter to locate source of malfunction
  • Replaces or repairs worn or damaged components, such as carburetors, alternators, and magnetos
  • Removes engine from aircraft, using hoist
  • Disassembles and inspects parts for wear, warping, or other defects
  • Repairs or replaces defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft
  • Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories
  • Performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes
  • Required to be licensed by Federal Aviation Administration with current Airframe and Powerplant license
  • Service engines and airframe components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition
  • Specialize in work, repair and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies
  • Perform routine inspections such as 50- and 100-hour inspections, assist or lead annual inspections or any other OEM mandated inspection with ability to meet provided deadlines
  • Ability to test run and taxi aircraft during busy airport operations while communicating with air traffic control
  • Quickly troubleshoot and repair deficiencies reported by aircrew
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Ability to repair composites using specialized equipment a plus
