Scope of Position
The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute are committed to enhancing the responsibility to the community and neighborhood for a positive impact on health and social outcomes. The Center for Cancer Health Equity (CCHE) Community Outreach Representative will function as an integral member of a team to work with internal programs, community events and organizations to support and implement programming that creates healthier communities. This position functions as integral member of CCHE to perform administrative duties and support community outreach programs within Ohio. The Community Outreach Representative is responsible for coordination and supports the goals of those areas through outreach initiatives.
Position Summary
The Community Outreach Representative will coordinate/implement the day to day administrative and programmatic activities of the Center for Community Outreach and Engagement in the Rural and Appalachian communities of Southeast Ohio. This position will assist with community coalitions, research studies and grants including participant recruitment and the implementation of strategies to ensure recruitment matches participant needs; arranges and facilitates participant appointments; conduct community education, outreach, and dissemination activities to increase awareness of and participation in clinical trials and research among communities in the South East Region of Ohio; empower and encourage individuals to go to the doctor on a regular basis, obtain age-appropriate cancer health screenings, and adopt healthy lifestyles. This position will require the flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 2 years of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
