The Hornstein Program at Brandeis University seeks an instructor for the course OHRNS 241 Skills and Techniques in Philanthropy and Fundraising, 4 credits, offered in the Spring of 2025 semester. This course in Jewish philanthropy and fundraising provides students the opportunity to better understand how to approach development within the context of the Jewish philanthropic ecosystem. Content includes an exploration of the history of American Jewish philanthropy, and as well as deeper understanding of key fundraising skills including, but not limited to: grant writing, donor relations and solicitation, managing and analyzing your database and creating a culture of philanthropy in your organization.
The class is held virtually and asynchronously and begins in March 17, 2025 for 8 weeks.
Candidates with minimum qualifications of an MA or higher, and teaching and/or other commensurate professional field experience will be given preference. Interested individuals should submit a cover letter, CV, a draft course syllabus, and names and contact information for two references. The deadline for first consideration is August 5, 2024.
