Requirements
  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven record of technical leadership across teams and systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems.
  • Experience working with cloud technologies, especially with AWS/Azure.
  • Experience designing and operating a PaaS/SaaS product at scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, design efficiently, and write quality software code.
  • Strong knowledge of Golang and building gRPC based microservices.
  • Deep experience with Kubernetes and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Strong understanding of elegant and robust designs, including designing API’s.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a short time and experience working in fast-paced, high-growth tech companies.
  • Team player who works well in collaborative situations and start-up environments, with a geographically distributed team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal, and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle (requirements, design, delivery and operations) of key features of the product; break down large projects into sub-projects that can be distributed to the team.
  • Define and drive next-generation designs for complex distributed systems using Kubernetes and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Direct the work of other leads and senior engineers, breaking down large, ambiguous problems into sub-projects and guiding execution.
  • Write and present design proposals and technical documents that define complex problems and long-term solutions.
  • Lead by example, mentor the team and establish credibility through quality technical execution.
  • Apply engineering leadership and deep knowledge of software development at scale to lead the operation, adoption, and evolution of our services.
  • Evaluate key engineering tradeoffs and make data-driven recommendations to the team.
  • Collaborate with product management and leadership to align technical objectives with business priorities.
  • Provide guidance in escalations and critical production issues.
  • Contribute to interviews and recruiting efforts, helping to attract and select top engineering talent.
  • Drive improvements to Aviatrix’s product and security posture, including contributions outside of your immediate project area.
