Responsibilities:

The Research Assistant at Mt. Hope Family Center will be working on research studies to collect psychological and biological research data. Research studies are related to examining the impact of stress, trauma, and child maltreatment on mental and physical health among children and adults. The position requires experience conducting research with families from diverse backgrounds.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Conduct research sessions with child and adult participants
• Assist with recruitment of participants for the study
• Enter research visit information and study data into project databases
• Contact participants and schedule research visits
• Process biological samples for analysis
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Associate’s degree in appropriate discipline plus 2-3 years specialized experience in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1-2 years of research experience working with human subjects or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Familiarity and comfort with Excel, ACCESS, and other databases, and statistical software such as SPSS, are preferred. 
• Transportation of research participants to and from the Center, transporting biological samples to URMC labs, and recruitment in the community using personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed) required.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Driver’s License required
• Phlebotomy preferred
